Spreading the Magic of Math and Computer Science
As computation increasingly pervades every field of study from the sciences through the humanities and arts, the nation's need for graduates in the mathematical and computer sciences is growing more quickly than in most other disciplines, and outpacing the supply. In this talk Dr. Pitt will describe several outreach initiatives aimed at engaging more K-12 students in computing. More importantly, he will use the talk as an excuse to do several hokey magic tricks.
The presentation of awards will follow the talk at approximately 5:15.
