Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities include:

Serve in the capacity of a Software Engineering Intern as a member of a Software Development Group in support of NJVC and NJVC’s Customers, primarily the Government. Duties include software engineering tasks as assigned by senior software engineers and the site lead. Members of the software development group must be able to adapt to a fast paced, ever changing environment where development tasks could cover a broad range of system configurations, priority, scope, and technical challenges. Work includes loading, evaluating, and testing applications and software products; maintaining existing capabilities; and analyzing, developing, testing, and integrating new technology.

Duties and qualifications, identifying both essential and marginal duties: Position is a part-time position as a Software Engineering Intern. Position utilizes software development skills and operational concept knowledge to respond to a wide range of development tasks including:

  • Perform software problem investigation, software design, problem resolution, unit/system integration and testing, documentation, and support to the Test Team in integration and formal testing with regard to discrepancy reports to existing systems.
  • Perform analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and documentation in support of new functionality or enhancements to existing systems.

Education, Skill, and Experience Requirements: Applicant must experience working on several tasks while managing priorities in a development group. Candidate must have a High School diploma and be enrolled in at least the 2nd year of college or equivalent work experience. Candidate should be familiar with multiple development tools, including but not limited to Visual Basic, .Net, Java, C++, and Coldfusion. Practical experience with a relational database, such as Oracle or Sybase is a plus. In addition, functional knowledge and experience of general development concepts such as XML, Web Services, Service Oriented Architecture, and Cloud Computing is highly desirable.

IA Certification Requirement: None Security Clearance Requirement: Candidate must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
