Our Graduates

What SLU Math/CS students have done after graduation.

Graduates in mathematics and computer science are versatile. They enter many career paths, including business, industry, medicine, government, and college teaching. Many also pursue an MBA or other advanced degree.

Mathematics graduates may choose to attend graduate school to earn masters or Ph.D. degrees in mathematics. Our students have gone on to earn these degrees at Yale, Berkeley, University of Illinois, University of Iowa, University of Virginia and Saint Louis University among others.

They have entered careers in college and university teaching, business and industry at such places as Shell Oil, Defense Mapping Agency, Georgia-Pacific, General American Life, National Security Agency and Digital Equipment Corporation.

Our graduates have also earned advanced degrees in Business Administration, Computer Science, Physics, Meteorology, Operations Research, Education and Statistics, among others.

Mathematics graduates have gone into secondary school teaching.

Computer Science graduates find rewarding jobs in the computing industry. Recent graduates are currently working for Northrup Grumman (aerospace), Garmin International (GPS and communications), Electronic Arts (computer games), Monsanto (biotech), Scottrade (online trading), Accenture (consulting and technology), Maritz Research (market research), Dimension Data (IT services), the Martin Company (electronics manufacturing), Activision (computer games), Lockheed Martin (aerospace), and the US Postal Service.

In addition, at least three graduates since 2000 have started their own technology companies in the St. Louis area.
